Openfire Installation

I haven't found a ton of documentation on this. Is it recommended to use an SQL database? Also, if I choose the embedded database I cannot get it to talk to my LDAP. What am I doing wrong? TIA!

I don't think you can do both embedded and LDAP. Not 100% sure though. Why not just use LDAP?

I also use AD. I choose the embedded DB and at the end of the setup the configuration asks to specify an admin. I try my account or 'administrator' and it errors stating it cannot contact the LDAP....

ahhhhh I had issues here as well. Try admin admin (default openfire creds), and perhaps restart the service.
